Storyboard to learn more about how electric
motors work, along with their unique features
and interesting insights.
Lightweight, Powerful,
and Maintenance-Free
Electric motors powering modern electric
vehicles are surprisingly simple in design,
providing several advantages. The history
of electric motors stretches back as far as
that of combustion engines. There was
even a time in early automotive history
when electric motors dominated vehicle
propulsion.
The electric motor has long been a well-
-known machine in industry and
continues to evolve even today. However,
the technology behind it remains
largely unchanged. As a highly ecient
machine, the electromotor signicantly
outperforms combustion engines.
While top combustion engines achieve
a maximum eciency of around %,
electric motors routinely reach double this
eciency, allowing them to make optimal
use of the energy dedicated to powering
the vehicle.
