    Operating prot for
    the rst half of 2022
    In the rst half of 2022, we
    delivered 360,600 vehicles
    worldwide – 30% fewer than
    in the same period last year.
    The reasons for this include
    the war in Ukraine and
    the ongoing shortage of
    semiconductors. The operating
    prot of €676 million is 30.6%
    below the previous year, while
    the return on sales remains
    strong at 6.6% (previous
    year 9.6%). We continue our
    NEXT LEVEL EFFICIENCY+
    programme and we still expect
    a robust return on sales for
    the year as a whole.
    ŠKODA Plus registers
    a record number of cars
    oered and purchased
    Interest in buying used cars
    online is growing in 2022.
    Already in June, the number
    of oers to buy via ŠKODA
    Plus reached almost the same
    number as for the whole of
    2021. The number of cars
    bought out in real terms over
    the past 6 months is already
    at 87% of last year's total.
    The OCTAVIA and FABIA are
    among the most frequently
    purchased models via the
    online form. ŠKODA Plus also
    frequently purchases used
    SUPERB and KAMIQ models.
    ŠKODA Tour 2022
    in Mladá Boleslav
    The international meeting of
    owners and fans of not only
    vintage cars but also new
    ŠKODAs has a 57-year tradition.
    This time, the ŠKODA Tour took
    place at the Famoz Club near the
    ruins of Zvířetice Castle from
    24/7 to 31/7/2022. A total of
    23 crews took part in the event,
    coming from Germany, Austria,
    Denmark and Norway. The
    participants were welcomed by
    the traditional rally through the
    Bohemian Paradise, during which
    the crews performed given tasks,
    then a tour of the ruins of the
    castle Zvířetice or a ride to Mladá
    Boleslav to the ŠKODA Museum.
    On 22/7/2022, the Supervisory
    Board of Volkswagen AG appointed
    Oliver Blume as the new Chairman
    of the Group Board of Management.
    He will take over this position with
    eect as of 1/9/2022, combining this
    with his role as Chairman of the Board
    of Management of Porsche AG.
    As of 8/8/2022 you can vote on https://autoproklauna.skoda-
    auto.cz to choose the livery of one of the two ŠKODA ENYAQ
    COUPÉ iVs that will be driven by the Clown Doctors from
    September as part of their therapeutic visits to hospitals,
    homes for the elderly and the homes of long-term or seriously
    ill children. In total, nearly 200 entries were submitted to
    the competition, from which an expert jury consisting of
    representatives of ŠKODA AUTO and the non-prot organisation
    Clown Doctor selected the 20 most interesting designs.
    The public have the opportunity to choose from these
    TOP20 designs, which you can nd HERE, until 31/8/2022.
    The design with most votes will win and be used on one of the
    Clown Doctor cars. The livery of the second loaned ŠKODA
    ENYAQ COUPÉ iV model will be determined by an expert jury.

    The Prague Pride festival
    takes place in the week from
    August 8 to 14, and you
    can join in too! The highlight
    of the festival will be the
    rainbow parade on Saturday

    that ŠKODA AUTO, as the
    ocial partner of the festival,
    will be a part of. Škodians, their
    families & friends are welcome

    and going through the recruitment
    process every month, especially for
    positions in Production. Such a heavy
    recruitment center workload had to be
    innovated. Thanks to the Inno Team's
    POC program, the technology of an
    interactive chatbot was tested to
    handle the large number of candidates
    more eciently. In the next episode of

    The Czech carmaker took
    over responsibility for the
    development of the VW
    Group's global MQB-A0
    platform last year, therefore
    the colleagues from Technical
    Development discussed the
    platform in detail with the
    new CEO. Klaus Zellmer also
    took close look at the MEB
    battery systems production in
    Mladá Boleslav, which ŠKODA
    launched in May this year. You

    L&K/ŠKODA AUTO company in Mladá Boleslav has been actively involved
    in drivers’ education for 115 years. In the summer of 1907, it set up
    its own driving school directly in the car factory for amateur drivers and
    professional "chaueurs" hired by car owners without their own driving
    licenses. Theoretical and practical instructions were given on the operation,
    construction and maintenance of Laurin & Klement vehicles. Promoting road
    safety is still one of the main areas of ŠKODA’s social responsibility today,
