    time the company has supported the world’s largest cycling event. 250 vehicles will provide
    mobility to the organizers and race management of the Tour de France or be used as support and service
    vehicles. The vehicle eet also includes the all-electric ŠKODA ENYAQ iV that Tour Director Christian
    Prudhomme will be using as a command vehicle (‘Red Car’) on 16 of the 21 stages.

    Klaus Zellmer has been appointed to
    lead the Mladá Boleslav carmaker. He
    will become the Chairman of the Board
    of Management of ŠKODA AUTO
    on 1/7/2022, in accordance with
    the sole shareholder’s decision and will
    be elected Chairman of the Board of
    Management at the rst Board meeting
    he attends that day. Zellmer succeeds
    Thomas Schäfer, who is leaving the
    position of Chairman of the Board of
    ŠKODA AUTO at the end of June.
    “In front of me, I see a highly motivated
    team that has overcome a whole range
    of challenges over the past two years.
    Now we’re about to take the next leap;
    ŠKODA’s great strength is its focus on
    the customer. We are going to system-
    atically build on this strength in the dig-
    ital and electried world. Our ultimate
    goal is for all products and services to
    be reasonable, easy to use and help to
    improve our customers’ lives. Along-
    side our social partner KOVO, we will
    be raising ŠKODA AUTO to the NEXT
    LEVEL and successfully guiding it
    through the transformation decade so
    that all ŠKODA employees will have se-
    cure jobs tomorrow and the day
    after. That’s my goal and that’s what
    drives me,” explained Klaus Zellmer,
    the new Chairman of the Board of
    Management of ŠKODA AUTO before
    taking up his post.

    CHILDREN TO JOIN
    THE COMPETITION,

    CLOWN DOCTORS
    The partnership between
    ŠKODA AUTO and the non-
    prot organization Clown
    Doctors (Zdravotní klaun)
    has lasted for more than 20
    years. This year, the partners
    have decided to celebrate their
    cooperation with a competition
    for valuable prizes, which is
    open to all children up to the age
    of 15 until the end of July.
    Children can submit their designs
    via the autoproklauna.skoda-
    auto.cz website, where you can
    also nd further competition
    rules. All your child has to do is
    draw how they would imagine
    the design of ENYAQ COUPÉ iV,
    which we will lend to the Clown
    Doctors NGO. The top two
    designs will be approved to go
    on a joy ride across the country
    to help, and there are other great
    prizes for the top 20 designs.
    In cooperation with
    VODAFONE, we have
    launched a mobile private
    5G network at the Mladá
    Boleslav site. Thanks
    to the ultra-fast and
    reliable data transmission,
    technology opens up new
    possibilities in production.
    The pilot project aims
    to comprehensively test
    and further develop the
    technology under real-
    life conditions. 5G data
    transmission will be used
    in the pilot phase for the
    autonomous transport
    of newly manufactured
    cars. The network will
    also enable greater use
    of articial intelligence or
    further development in
    the area of shared data.

    with ŠKODA AUTO is organizing
    a suburban lm camp for children
    of ŠKODA AUTO employees aged
    8 to 15.
    EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCES

    the history of the ŠKODA
    1100 OHC Coupé racing car
    in the latest episode of the
    SIMPLY CLEVER PODCAST,
    which ŠKODA AUTO is also
    publishing as a videocast on
    its YouTube channel. Only two
    units of the elegant closed-
    body racing car were built in
    1959/1960. Both took part
    in races until 1962, before
    being written o in trac
    accidents. Last year, experts
    from the ŠKODA Museum
    and Prototype Construction
    Centre restored one of
    the 1100 OHC Coupés. To
    do so, they relied on original
    documentation and used
    several surviving original parts.
    In addition to state-of-the-art
    technologies, the team drew
    on traditional manufacturing
    techniques, for example in
