    ŠKODA TO PRESENT INNOVATIVE

    ŠKODA AUTO, in cooperation
    with its social partner, the
    KOVO Trade Union, introduced
    the Managed Rotations project
    at the beginning of 2021, in
    which members of the same
    team regularly rotate between
    dierent positions following
    a xed schedule, with the aim
    of reducing the physical workload
    at selected workplaces.
    The rst 500 direct production
    workers have also participated in
    physiotherapy programs, which
    involve individual counselling to
    prevent hand or back pain and
    relax stressed body parts.
    The carmaker is also working to
    improve ergonomics for indirect
    employees.
    ON  JUNE, ŠKODA AUTO
    RECEIVED THE ‘EMPLOYER OF
    THE DECADE’ TITLE AT THE END
    OF THE 
    TH
    EMPLOYER OF THE
    YEAR AWARDS CEREMONY.
    This is the second time we have
    received the award, after claiming it
    in 2012. In the ‘Employer of the Year’
    survey, the Czech car manufacturer
    regularly tops the list in the Czech
    Republic; it has won the nationwide
    category ‘Employers with over 5,000
    employees’ ve times in the last ten
    years. Rating follows the renowned
    Saratoga methodology from the
    PricewaterhouseCoopers company.

    TECHNICAL FIELDS.
    The mobile educational
    laboratory visited
    almost 30 secondary
    schools across
    the Czech Republic,
    from Ostrava to
    Hradec Králové, Prague
    to Liberec and České
    Budějovice. More
    than 2,000 pupils
    had the opportunity
    to learn about the
    latest technologies
    through games and
    competitions. Last
    year, EDU.LAB visited
    dozens of primary
    schools, this year it
    focused on secondary
    schools with
    a more demanding
    programme.
    In addition to
    deepening knowledge,
    the benet is to
    increase interest in
    technical elds and
    their further study.
    Primary schools can
    now register for
    the autumn roadshow.
    We will be presenting innovative
    sustainability concepts in
    the company’s procurement
    at the Greentech Festival in Berlin
    from 22 to 24 June 2022.
    ŠKODA AUTO Board Member for
    Purchasing Karsten Schnake is going
    to speak on the topics of supply chains,
    the circular economy and sustainable
    materials, among other things, as part
    of a panel discussion. ŠKODA will also
    be presenting its new all-electric top
    model, the ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV, and
    an ENYAQ iV 80 will be available for
    test drives.
    More than 100 exhibitors
    at the event dedicated to innovative
    sustainable technologies and
    sustainable lifestyles.

    FOR YOUNG CREATIVES
    CALLED CAR FOR CLOWN
    DOCTORS.
    The design of the 2 ŠKODA
    ENYAQ COUPÉ iV cars,
    that the carmaker will present
    to the Clown Doctors at
    the end of September, will be
    designed by children. Children
    can submit their designs until
    the end of July via the
    autoproklauna.skoda-auto.cz
    website.
    From the 20 nalists, the
    public and an expert jury will
    select the 2 winning designs
    in August, which the carmaker
    will transform into real cars.
    The ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ
    iV cars designed by children will
    be handed over to the Health
    Clown on 27 September 2022.

    The South Moravian Rally
    Hustopeče in its 17th year was also
    marked by two traditional extremes
    – hot weather and demanding
    gravel tracks. The crew of the local
    Agrotec ŠKODA Rally Team Jan
    Kopecký – Jan Hloušek coped
    best with all this on the narrow
    paths between the vineyards.
    Behind the wheel of the ŠKODA
    FABIA Rally2 evo, the ŠKODA
    dealer team's duo once again fought
    a close battle with Václav Pech.
    With his victory in Hustopeče,
    Jan Kopecký increased his lead
    in the Czech Rally Championship
    standings, where he is aiming for his
    ninth title.
    All ŠKODA dealer teams will now
    focus on Rally Bohemia, which is
    scheduled for 8–10 July 2022 in
    Mladá Boleslav and the surrounding
    area.

    UKRAINIAN
    CHILDREN
    MY ENYAQ iV:
    WITH ELECTRIC

    The book Pohádky pro děti
    z Ukrajiny (Fairy Tales for
    Children from Ukraine) should
    help Ukrainian refugee children
    to learn Czech and integrate with
    new classmates. Seven fairytale
    stories by writer Petr Březina
    (pictured left) and Ukrainian
    translator Kateryna Platonová
    introduce our fairytale characters
    to Ukrainian children who have
    come to us in search of a new
    home. Czech primary school
    children will draw their own
    pictures for each fairy tale.
    The project is supported by the
    ŠKODA AUTO Endowment
    Fund and the KOVO Trade
    Union. Martin Jahn, Board

    Marketing, also met the author

    45-year-old Josef Patočka recently went to ll up his girlfriend’s car.
    “When I started the cold diesel engine, I was horried by the noise it
    made, even though it’s one of the latest engine models. Once you’re
    used to the silence of an electric car, you never want to go back,” is how
    the rst-ever Czech owner of an all-electric ŠKODA ENYAQ iV begins
    his story. Today, he drives his electric car to work every day, as well as
    regular trips to Prague and Brno and other destinations across
    the country. In his words, the ENYAQ iV is the ideal family car thanks
    to its dimensions, spaciousness and boot size.

    ŠKODA Motorsport
    presented the new racing
    special last week. The new
    ŠKODA Fabia RS Rally2's
    special braking system and
    precisely balanced chassis
    deliver valuable tenths of
    a second on the track.
    The roll cage, consisting
    of 35.8 meters of steel
    tubing and a specially
    protected fuel tank,
    ensures a high level of
    safety on board. The
    electronics and controls
    are tailored to the needs of
    the driver and co-driver
    during the rally. The FABIA
    RS Rally2 benets in
    particular from the longer
    wheelbase of the fourth
    generation FABIA. This
    makes the car slightly
    calmer and the rear end
    more stable.

    AT THE IQ
    PLAY FESTIVAL
    Children and adults will be
    entertained and enlightened
    by the IQ Play Festival –
    a playful exhibition, where
    puzzles and games of an
    educational nature, sensory
    toys, Montessori aids,
    wooden games, logic puzzles,
    building blocks and enlarged
    games can be seen and
    played. The entire festival will
    oer a large variety of games
    until 30 June 2022. The
    festival is open to all visitors of
    the ŠKODA Museum as a part
    of the the standard museum
    entry fee. For school groups,
    two accompanying persons
    have a free entry.
