    On this occasion, representatives of the car
    company, the KOVO union and representatives
    of the town of Mladá Boleslav met at the
    foundation stone of the future bridge.

    In cooperation with our social
    partner KOVO Trade Union, we
    have prepared several refreshing
    novelties for employees for the
    period of hot days (from June to
    August), which will also help you
    hydrate better.
    These improvements involve company-
    issued bottles, free soda oers, mineralized
    drinks or the Isoline concentrate. From
    May 2022, for example, we have prepared
    a new Isoline drink formula for freshbars –
    the existing formula has been expanded to
    include ten vitamins (E; C; B1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7,
    9, 12). Just like last year, you can enjoy
    a salad from June to August at a subsidised
    price of CZK 3 per bowl.

    NFT PUCK AUCTION WILL
    SUPPORT CZECH YOUTH
    HOCKEY
    ŠKODA AUTO celebrated 30 years as the ocial main
    sponsor of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship with
    several exceptional activities. It oered a limited edition of
    30 digital pucks in the form of unmistakable NFT tokens
    for auction. A three-round auction took place on the online
    platform OpenSea.io, which, after conversion according to
    the current exchange rate of the cryptocurrency Ethereum,
    brought in approximately 750 000 CZK before taxes.
    The proceeds will
    be used to purchase
    hockey equipment
    for the top 3 Czech
    Youth Hockey
    Academies from
    the 2021/22 season.
    CAR DELIVERIES TO
    UKRAINE RESUMED
    IN JUNE, ŠKODA AUTO WILL RESUME DELIVERIES OF
    ŠKODA VEHICLES TO UKRAINE IN SKD* FORMAT. THE
    SKD VEHICLES WILL CONTINUE TO BE ASSEMBLED
    AT OUR BUSINESS PARTNER EUROCAR'S PLANT IN
    SOLOMONOVO, UKRAINE.
    As a rst batch, 80 SKD ŠKODAs will be delivered to
    Ukraine. These will be KODIAQ and KAROQ SUVs. Any
    increase in production volume at the Solomonovo plant will
    depend on how the war progresses.
    *SKD – Semi Knocked Down is a stage of disassembly of the
    transported cars, when the powertrain (engine, gearbox, front axle),
    rear axle, wheels, exhaust and also the cardan shaft for 4x4 models
    are dismantled from nished cars. These are packed onto a pallet
    along with the bodywork and sent for reassembly at the plant in
    Ukraine.
    The bridge will run along the railway bridge and
    will become part of the city's infrastructure for
    pedestrians and cyclists, but will also serve to
    connect to the regional and long-distance routes
    of the Jizera Greenway.
    The bridge should be completed by April 2023
    at the latest. Further development of the
    surrounding natural areas into a belt of urban
    and public green space is planned for the future.
    The ŠKODA AUTO Endowment Fund has
    contributed CZK 26.000.000, additional
    expenses of the total cost of almost
    CZK 67 million will be covered by subsidies
    from the European Union and funds from
    the Town of Mladá Boleslav.
    We have partially relocated cable
    harness production from Ukraine
    to the Czech Republic in close co-
    ordination with the aected sup-
    pliers. The production facilities are
    staed by 35 women from the
    Ukrainian plant in Lviv, who are
    now training new employees.
    Cable harnesses for the ŠKODA
    FABIA COMBI are now being pro-
    duced in Mladá Boleslav, produc-
    tion of this item for the OCTAVIA,
    KODIAQ, KAROQ and SUPERB
    model series will also start in the
    coming wee
    ks. The company has
    secured additional production ca-
    pacities in Morocco and Roma-
    nia. The aim of the measures is
    to safeguard the company even
    more eectively against potential
    supply bottlenecks and disrup-
    tions to the supply chain in the
    future. The arrangements will
    allow for current production vol-
    umes to be doubled if necessary.

    The Smetana‘s Litomyšl Music
    Festival is traditionally held in
    the birthplace of the famous
    composer Bedřich Smetana.
    Smetanova Litomyšl is the
    second oldest music festival in
    the Czech Republic and is one
    of ŠKODA AUTO's traditional
    cultural sponsorship projects.
    ŠKODA AUTO has been
    supplying the ocial car as
    the ocial partner of the festival
    since 1996.
    The Smetana Litomyšl Festival
    is the second oldest music
    festival in the Czech Republic
    and one of the largest regular
    classical music festivals in the
    country. One of the highlights
    of this year's festival will be the
    Concert for Europe, scheduled
    for 1 July 2022 on the occasion
    of the Czech Republic's
    ceremonial assumption of the
    Presidency of the Council of
    the European Union. ŠKODA
    AUTO has long been one of the
    biggest supporters of top Czech
    culture. The partnership with
    the Smetana Litomyšl Opera
    Festival has been in place since
    1996. The carmaker has also
    been a traditional partner of the
    Czech Philharmonic,
    the National Theatre and the
    Zlín Film Festival.

    L'ETAPE
    IS ALMOST
    HERE

    CYCLING RACE.
    This year, the biggest festival
    of cycling for Czech fans will
    give everyone with courage
    and training the opportunity to
    set out on two routes of 136
    kilometres and 91 kilometres.
    Both routes start and end in
    Prague and lead through the
    proven road terrain of Křivoklát
    Region, Beroun Region and
    Bohemian Karst (Český kras).
    The race will take place this
    Saturday, 11 June 2022.

    TAKES ON
    THE ŠKODA

    DESERT IN
    THE SAHARA
    AN ELECTRIC CAR IN THE SAND DUNES – HOW WOULD IT COPE?
    JUST FINE, AS THE ŠKODA ENYAQ iV PROVED IN ITS ROLE AS
    AN ESCORT VEHICLE FOR THE ŠKODA TITAN DESERT MOROCCO
    MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE.
    The ŠKODA Titan Desert Morocco race is nicknamed Dakar on two
    wheels. 645 racing kilometres, 5,825 vertical metres, six challenging stages,
    temperatures above 40oC and seven days and seven nights in the Sahara
    combine to make one of the world’s toughest cycling stage races. From
    29 April to 5 May, over ve hundred men and women braved the desert
    heat on mountain bikes. And so did a eet of escort and organiser ŠKODA
    vehicles, including the ENYAQ iV.

    NUMBER
    OF THE WEEK
    Crash testing has been done
    in the Czech Republic (and
    previously Czechoslovakia) for
    over 50 years now. Needless to
    say, ŠKODA was the pioneer.
    The rst crash test for vehicle
    approval was done in 1972 by
    the then Czechoslovak Motor
    Vehicles Research Institute
    (ÚVMV), a research centre that
    assisted car development in
    various ways. The rst car sent
    speeding into a wall was
    a ŠKODA 100.
    ŠKODA current crash laboratory
    is thus 200 metres long and
    contains two so-called measuring
    stations, so it can carry out two
