    The new Enyaq Laurin &
    Klement, named after its
    founders Václav Laurin and
    Klement, is coming out of
    the Mladá Boleslav car factory.
    The new car will be available
    in 4×4 or conventional
    rear-wheel drive. The car
    brings improved handling,
    a clearer menu or a range of
    570 km per charge in WLTP
    mode. The top speed is
    180 km/h.

    On Tuesday, 23 May, a bridge over the Jizera River connecting Mladá
    Boleslav with villages in the vicinity. The opening of the bridge, designed
    for pedestrians and cyclists, was very well attended. Jaryn Hořava
    of the Czech Velocipedist Club 1880 took the rst ceremonial crossing,
    demonstrating a ride on a historic high wheel. Then the footbridge was
    tested by all present. The more skilled, including members of the Škoda
    Auto Board of Directors, even set o across the bridge on shared bikes.
    The footbridge is now open to the general public.

    MMK 2023: Škoda Museum Held a Škoda Auto Management Conference
    On 24 and 25 May 2023, the Škoda
    Museum held the MMK Conference,
    where the upper management of
    Škoda Auto met to discuss the
    future direction of the company. Key
    topics included the development of
    the company‘s strategy, current
    problems and their operational and
    systematic solutions, customer
    centricity, corporate culture as well
    as future product oering.
    In addition to the presentations,
    the conference was also enriched with
    interactive workshops that focused
    on current topics. These workshops
    focused on digital solutions and the
    use of articial intelligence at Škoda
    Auto, the concept of New Work
    & Leadership, and the marketing
    strategy of the Škoda brand.
    The conference was also attended
    by Škoda Explorers. This is a group
    of employees from various elds
    who presented their innovative ideas
    or solutions, and the conference
    participants then had the opportunity
    to vote for the best one to be
    implemented in the near future.

    The 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey
    World Championship ended
    with Canada‘s victory. 10,470
    fans watched the hockey nals
    at an arena in Tampere, Finland.
    The Czech crystal trophy for the
    most valuable player of the cham

    pionship was created by Škoda
    Design. During the ceremony,
    Martin Jahn, member of the
    Škoda Auto Board of Manage
    -
    ment, presented the trophy to
    Latvian goalkeeper Artūrs Šilovs.

    Come to the Day with Škoda Auto!
    On Friday 2 June, the Day with Škoda Auto takes place as
    part of the Zlín Film Festival, the largest international lm
    festival for children and young people. The Škoda Enyaq iV
    model, uniquely designed by the eight-year-old winner of
    the competition, František Hanko, will be presented to the
    Clown Doctor organisation during the event.
    The programme starts at
    2 p.m. at Peace Square in
    Zlín. Admission is free.

    Women in Leadership
    Last week, Martin Jahn, Škoda Auto
    Board Member for Sales and Marketing,
    shared a post about women in sales
    and marketing leadership on LinkedIn.
    According to Jahn, women play an
    essential role at Škoda Auto:
    “They usually tend to be better at
    following their intuition and empathy
    when making business decisions. That‘s
    why I‘m very proud to have seven women
    among our Sales & Marketing Directors
    in Škoda markets in France, Croatia,
    Israel, Ukraine, Norway, Finland and
    Netherlands.“

    Let‘s Clean Up the Czech Republic:
    Špindlerův Mlýn
    Join us and help clean up nature in the Krkonoše Mountains. The volunteer
    event will take place on Saturday, June  from  am. The meeting point for
    participants is in Špindlerův Mlýn No. . Škoda Auto, in cooperation with
    the KOVO Union, has been supporting the Clean Up the Czech Republic
    initiative for seven years. In that time, Škodians have rid nature of several
    tonnes of waste.

    The ECO Campaign Continues:
    There’s no Place Like Home
    The next part of the EKO campaign in Škoda Auto
    restaurants focuses on the origin of food. Czechs
    consume  kg of vegetables per capita per year, but
    only / come from the country. Over , tonnes
    of fresh vegetables are imported from abroad every
    year! Dependence on imports aects not only the
    economy, but also our health and the environment. It
    is important to support local suppliers and to consume
    seasonal food originating in the Czech Republic.
    Each of us can make a dierence.
    Prioritize seasonal, local ingredients that
    grown here. You‘ll boost the economy, you‘ll benet
    your own health and help reduce harmful emissions.

    Children‘s Day
    with Škoda
    Children‘s Day is coming!
    Škoda Muzeum and the
    Customer Centre have
    prepared a Children‘s
    Pirate Day for Saturday,
     June. The event
    takes place from  am
    to  pm. In addition to
    free admission to the
    exhibitions, visitors
    can enjoy creative
    workshops, a games
    zone, stalls with face
    painting and children‘s
    tattoos, a jumping pirate
    ship or a concert by the
    band The gerbil returns.
    Adults can take a test
    drive in the Enyaq car.

    Employees Donate
    To Help Areas Hit
    by Earthquakes
    In February 2023, Turkey and
    Syria were hit by a very strong
    earthquake. The BW – Value
    Engineering department has
    organized a donation to help
    people aected by this disaster.
    The collection is announced through
    the organization znesnáze21. In
    cooperation with the humanitarian
    organization People in Need,
    the collected funds will get exactly
    where it is really needed.
