Právo:
Interview With
Martin Jahn
The development of
electromobility is slower than
anticipated, and there is still
interest in cars with internal
combustion engines. As long
as it lasts and legislation and
emission rules allow, Škoda Auto
will continue to produce gasoline
and diesel vehicles. Martin Jahn,
Škoda Auto's Board Member
responsible for Sales and
Marketing, told Právo.
On Škoda Space, we are now
publishing the transcript of the
interview, which was also printed
in the daily newspaper Právo on
 March .
On Sunday, March , we marked World
Water Day. It reminds us that access
to safe drinking water is not a given,
and where water is scarce, inequality
and poverty grow, and quality of life
deteriorates. Water is also important
for our company. We need it for daily
production, building operations, cleaning,
hygiene, and technical equipment. Our
behavior inuences how much water
we consume and how responsibly we
manage it. Water conservation is not
only environmentally friendly but also
economically benecial for us – it reduces
costs and supports sustainability.
Škoda Auto approaches water
systematically and with respect in
its operations. Last year, it reduced
specic water consumption to . m
per vehicle produced in the Czech
Republic, representing a year-over-year
decrease of %. A concrete example is
the optimization of the water test in Hall
M, thanks to which Škoda Auto saved
approximately , m of water annually.
1.6
of water per
car produced
Škoda Motorsport has earned the highest
level of environmental accreditation
from the Fédération Internationale de
l’Automobile (FIA). The team successfully
completed a demanding two-month
audit process and demonstrated that
even in motorsport it is possible to be
environmentally conscious. The FIA
awards sustainability accreditation on the
basis of compliance with criteria across
 dierent areas. These are subject to
a rigorous audit conducted according to
strict criteria and standards, including, for
example, ISO  standard. Based on
the results of the audit, the FIA may grant
accreditation at one of three levels. In this
process, Škoda Motorsport received the
highest of the three accreditation levels.
The accreditation is valid for the following
two years.
