    The New

    Coming Out!
    UNECE is the international acronym for the
    United Nations Economic Commission for
    Europe (UNECE), whose main objective is to
    promote pan-European economic integration.
    Currently in the automotive industry, UNECE
    is guratively synonymous with two sets of
    regulations: the Cyber Security Management
    System (CSMS) and the Software Update
    Management System (SUMS).

    What could greater sustainability in
    the automotive industry look like
    in terms of the materials used? The
    EKX department at Škoda Auto
    is looking for materials that could
    be more circular (from interior ele-
    ments made of biomaterials to the
    bumper-to-bumper project – the
    production of bumpers from used
    or demolished parts). Lukáš Zuzá-
    nek and Dalibor Kopáč from EKX
    ŠA took part in the Simply Clever
    podcast, where they explained how
    the demonstrator they built works.
    This is a Škoda Octavia Generation
    IV, which has been partially cut
    up to get a closer look at the new
    materials tested inside the car.

    In February 2023, female employees of the
    Vrchlabí plant visited the local primary school on
    Náměstí Míru (Peace Square) to inform the girls,
    as they had done twice in the past, about
    the opportunities for personal and professional
    development oered by Škoda Auto. The
    carmaker has long been one of the most attractive
    employers in the region, applies equal treatment
    in its operations. Women will nd many interesting
    professions not only in production, but also in
    logistics, administration and management.

    Škoda Auto Warns
    Against Internet Frauds!
    Various fraudulent oers are spreading
    through the Czech internet, exploiting
    the Škoda Auto‘s name. The carmaker
    strongly warns against fake investment
    oers and fraudulent competitions, and
    at the same time it actively monitors all
    events, cooperates with the Czech Police
    and les criminal reports. The carmaker‘s
    Czech representation has also prepared
    an educational video with the well-known
    TV Nova presenter Rey Koranteng.

    Matthias Speicher works as a banking
    expert and devotes his free time to his
    YouTube channel focused on the Škoda
    Enyaq iV. He gives the information about
    the car very factually.
    „On long trips, I‘ve never had
    a problem with a dead battery
    or not being able to nd a charger.“
    says the youtuber.
    Longer journeys are important to plan for
    charging the car, but Speicher sees the low
    energy consumption compared to internal
    combustion engine cars as one of the biggest
    advantages of an electric car. Another
    plus is the brake energy regeneration.
    Interestingly, if the Enyaq iV were a diesel
    car, it would have an eight-litre fuel tank,
    according to Speicher.

    Even though the Škoda Fabia RS Rally is a competition special, it has a lot in
    common with the production Fabia. Customers can buy the fourth-generation Fabia,
    for example, in a stylish and sporty Monte Carlo version. Professional racers can get
    the all-new Fabia RS Rally competition version from Škoda Motorsport. However,
    they dier greatly in price. The Fabia Monte Carlo is more aordable, while its
    sportier version, the Fabia RS Rally, is, on the other hand, the most expensive thing
    you can buy from the Czech carmaker. But there are many more common features
    and dierences between the pair.

    The Technology Literacy team
    together with CTU PhD students
    introduced automation and
    digitalization in an entertaining
    way. The main topics of the
    programme aimed at increasing the
    technological literacy of primary and
    secondary school students were
    electromobility, articial intelligence,
    G networks, the Internet of Things
    and cybersecurity.
    Clean Up Czechia  –
    Volunteer Event Starts on  April!
    Clean Up Czechia! is a volunteer clean-up event that takes
    place throughout the Czech Republic. The aim is to relieve nature
    of accumulated rubbish and other clutter. Škoda Auto has been
    supporting this event for  years. Let‘s clean up the Czech Republic
    on  April in Vrchbělá near Bělá pod Bezdězem.
