    EA  Engine
    Development
    at Škoda Auto
    Škoda Auto takes over responsibility for
    the development of the complete EA 
    engine range within the Volkswagen Group.
    These are transversely mounted in-line petrol
    engines. They are used in a wide range of
    models from Škoda, Volkswagen, SEAT,
    Audi and CUPRA. Until now, Škoda Auto has
    been responsible for the development of all
    EA  MPI units. Its scope is now extended
    to the development of all EA  TSI engines,
    including their hybrid versions. This will happen
    in incremental steps by . Responsibility
    for the development of the entire EA 
    engine range will not only bring new jobs in
    the Technical Development Department,
    but will also increase Škoda Auto‘s global
    competitiveness.

    In this context, both the European Commission
    and the Council of the European Union have
    banned the TikTok app for their employees.
    The National Cyber and Information Security
    Authority has warned against installing the app on
    people (and devices) that have access to so-called
    critical information infrastructure systems.

    (FIG) draws attention to the ban on the use of social
    networks to store Škoda Auto corporate information.
    Social networking apps themselves are not banned,
    but it is important to keep yourself safe.

    Drive Like a Professional
    Here are driving tips for driving on asphalt. Behind
    the wheel of the Octavia RS, rally driver Kris Meeke
    will give you tips on how to improve your style on
    asphalt. The rst piece of advice is the correct driving
    position. For a competitive driver, it is crucial to sit in
    the upright position with both hands on the steering
    wheel in the „three-quarter to three“ position, this is
    the only way to be in full control of the car and react
    quickly to sudden situations. The second piece of
    advice is to have a good view from the vehicle. Always
    look at least ten metres in front of the car. Another
    tip to watch out for is the ramp rate. Always brake
    before a bend. One last piece of advice is to keep your
    distance and ride smoothly, working the pedals early
    and the throttle carefully.

    Clean Up Czechia  –
    Volunteer Event Starts on
     April!
    Clean Up Czechia! is a volunteer clean-up event
    that takes place throughout the Czech Republic.
    The aim is to relieve nature of accumulated
    rubbish and other clutter. Škoda Auto has
    been supporting this event for  years.
    „We kindly invite all Škodians to the traditional
    happening Clean Up Czechia! Come with
    us to clean up Vrchbělá, which is part of the
    Kokořínsko-Mácha´s Region and is located only
    20 minutes from Mladá Boleslav,“ says Michal
    Kadera, Head of the SR – External Relations

    Launches a New
    Version of the
    Citymove App
    The multimodal Citymove app, which
    has been helping users get around Pra-
    gue since , has a new version. Like
    many other applications, Citymove
    reached a stage where the existing
    backend prevented it from developing
    and scaling quickly. Citymove . is
    thus switching to a new system de-
    veloped in the Škoda Auto DigiLab.
    The advantage is the direct connecti-
    on to the Prague Transport Company
    (DPP) and the Technical Administrati-
    on of Communications (TSK).
    Citymove is one of the rst apps to
    enable this connection. Users can use
    the app to buy tickets, pay parking
    fees, nd parking zones, public trans-
    port stops and shared electric scooters
    BeRider, shared cars and bikes Nextbi-
    ke and Rekola.

    The Hard Life of
    Crash Test Dummies
    The work of test dummies helps save
    lives. While computer simulation tools
    are playing an increasingly important role
    in new car development, practical safe-
    ty crash tests are certainly not on the de-
    cline. Škoda Auto has an extensive crash
    laboratory where it tests the safety of
    cars almost daily.  crash tests are car-
    ried out here annually. The carmaker uses
    more than  types of dummies for test-
    ing – eight of them are adults, the rest of
    the dummies represent children aged .,
    ,  and . The basic metal construction
    of the mannequin is strong and durable,
    its body is also made up of materials that
    simulate the behaviour of the human body
    in a specic situation as closely as possible.

    for every Škoda car sold in the Czech
    Republic, continues this year.
