As part of its digital
transformation, Škoda Auto
continues to expand its
portfolio of smart customer
services – designed to be
comprehensive, practical, and
user-friendly. Through Škoda
Connect and the MyŠkoda
app, customers can remotely
control certain vehicle
functions, pay for refuelling
and parking, or book a
service appointment. The
latest addition to this oering
is Škodabox – a digitally
secured locker where
customers can drop o or
collect their car keys outside
regular service hours.
On February , a signicant event took place in the F
area called FF – Yearly Review and Target Setting
. This meeting, held as part of our “Finance
Future“ (FF) initiative, brought many inspiring
moments and important discussions that guide us
towards further development of our area.
The entire event was opened by Mr. Holger Peters,
Board Member for Finance, IT and Legal Aairs,
together with Lukáš Melichárek, responsible for
FF steering. In his presentation, Mr. Peters evaluated
Škoda Auto's performance for and presented
the outlook for , including potential risks and
opportunities. His words were an inspiration to all
participants and set the tone for the entire day.
The main point of the program was the “Target
Setting “ section, where talented members of
the F department, known as Delivery Leads,
presented their projects and Objective Key Results to
Mr. Peters and F area managers.

As part of the Years of Škoda Auto
celebrations, a dedicated section in Škoda Mobil
shares fascinating interviews with long-standing
employees. In the latest instalment, we spoke to
Oto Janata, who started at the company as
an apprentice wood model maker. In his third year,
he moved to Česana, where he worked on design
models, body shop mock-ups, foundry moulds for
castings, and nishing work on prototypes.
In the early s, he contributed to
the development of the Škoda Felicia and later
joined the newly established Škoda Design Studio,
which he coordinated between and .
Now retired, he continues to share his expertise
with aspiring designers at the Academy of Arts,
Architecture & Design in Prague (UMPRUM).

Functional quality, software, articial
intelligence, and charging quality
are the key focus areas for quality
management in . The heads
of quality at Škoda, SEAT/CUPRA,
Volkswagen, and Volkswagen
Commercial Vehicles have jointly
set their targets for the year.
Through these shared goals,
the Brand Group Core (BGC) is
further strengthening its approach
to quality assurance, ensuring
that available resources are used
eectively to enhance both product
quality and digital services. Beyond
traditional quality criteria, the focus
is also on optimising software
maturity and integrating articial
intelligence for both strategic and
operational tasks.

Car of the Year 2025:
Škoda Kodiaq takes
second place
The Škoda Kodiaq secured second
place in the battle for the Car of
the Year title. This year’s competition
was exceptionally close, with every point
awarded by the jury inuencing the nal
ranking. The top three cars were separated
by just three points, while the fourth-place
contenders received the same score.
The jury, composed of leading Czech
automotive journalists, selected the
Mercedes-Benz G-Class as this year’s
winner. Their evaluation was based on
a range of criteria, including technical
innovations, technological advancements,
practicality, and safety.

The automotive industry is now shifting towards
electrication, but electric propulsion is far from
a new concept – it has appeared before in history,
alongside other alternative drive systems. Engineers
have been debating the best method of propulsion
for at least years. In , the Laurin &
Klement Type E model with an electric drive was
created, thanks to the renowned Czech designer and
inventor František Křižík. The author of the arc lamp
and innovator of electrically powered trams used
a car from Mladá Boleslav to build a car with a system
that could be described as a hybrid: the petrol engine
served as a source of electricity to produce electricity,
which was then used to drive the car itself.

Škoda Mobil, the employee newspaper of the Mladá Boleslav-based carmaker, includes special supplements that focus on especially important topics from Škoda's perspective.
