    Škoda Auto promotes a healthy lifestyle and
    has joined the ranks of companies with a strict
    smoking ban from . Tobacco addiction is
    a serious social and health problem.  million
    people die from smoking worldwide each
    year. In the Czech Republic, nicotine addiction
    causes , deaths a year. The habit also
    has a negative impact on household budgets.
    A typical smoker spends up to CZK  million
    in his or her lifetime.
    Life without cigarettes has many health
    benets. These include, for example,
    a reduction in pulse or blood pressure,
    improvement, taste, smell and breathing.
    After years without cigarettes, the risk of
    cancer, heart attack and other cardiovascular
    diseases decreases.
    Škoda Auto, together with the KOVO Trade
    Unions, oers a programme called On Lungs
    Matter, which includes a free consultation
    at lung clinics and a CZK , discount on
    nicotine replacement treatment with
    a minimum value of CZK ,. The oer can
    also be used on nicotine patches or
    the Adiquit mobile app to help quit smoking.

    The Czech Minister of Trade and Industry Jozef
    Síkela today visited the Škoda production plant in
    Vietnam to see rst-hand the ongoing construction
    of the assembly line, including the logistics halls.
    As part of his ocial mission with Škoda Auto repre-
    sentatives, Minister Síkela also met with representa-
    tives of Thanh Cong Motor Vietnam (TC Motor) to ex-
    press support for Škoda‘s entry into the Vietnamese
    market. For the carmaker, the sale of Škoda cars in Viet-
    nam is the next step in its internationalisation strategy.
    In TC Motor, the carmaker has found a strong and relia-
    ble partner to achieve its business goals in Vietnam.

    in the Museum
    Railway transport is an important part
    of the logistics of the largest Czech car
    company. Škoda Auto uses more than 
    railway wagons to transport nished cars.
    In February it donated one of them to the
    collection of the National Technical Museum
    in Prague. It is a Laaeks series car that has
    been in service since  and has undergone
    several comprehensive revisions since then.
    These wagons are designed for trans-porting
    ten passenger cars, their length reaches .
    metres. Škoda Auto dispatches approximately
    half of its production from its domestic plants
    using trains.

    The IPAX smart
    robot makes the
    transition with you
    The IPAX robot is an intelligent
    pedestrian assistant that should
    make crossing the road safer.
    It consists of two parts. The rst part
    is a base or chassis with wheels driven
    by electric motors. The second part
    of the robot is on a two-meter pole, it
    is a LiDAR brain and cameras through
    which it can recognize objects in its
    surroundings, such as an approaching
    car. On this head is a so-called HMI
    (set of screens) that show signals to
    drivers and pedestrians. The intelligent
    assistant can also send a signal
    to the infotainment system of an
    approaching car.
    Simply put,
    it‘s a smart
    trac light.

    Set the right shredding times
    for your documents
    For almost a year and a half, you have the option to
    store data in the cloud via SharePoint online, e.g. in
    the Teams app. This service allows you to set up your
    classication according to the KSU / CSD group-wide
    rules. After the deadline and the class you have chosen,
    the documents will be deleted automatically. If you have
    not set the class and thus the shredding period,
    the default class is . with shredding after  years
    (i.e.  days). This is followed by  days when
    recovery from the recycle bin is possible, after which
    the document is deleted permanently.
    Please check that the documents you
    have stored have the appropriate class.
    You can also set up a notication to
    prevent documents from being deleted.

    This year we continue our Create the Future podcast. The rst

    Machů and Lukáš Kousal, winners of the Web Summit visit.

    technology conference Web Summit, which will be held
    in Lisbon in November , based on the draw in the
    competition held during InnoDay 2022. The winners shared
    with us their experiences, insights and impressions of this huge
    event as part of the InnoNet platform‘s Christmas special.

    Laurin & Klement Kampus project,
    which will house the company‘s
    management from .
    The construction of the building is
    focused on sustainability, which is
    a key point of the company‘s strategy.
    The roof will be tted with
     kW of solar panels. Lighting
    will be provided by LED lights,
    and intelligent light sensors will help
    reduce energy waste. Ventilation and
    roller shutter systems will help to
    ensure the Laurin & Klement Kampus
    is at an ideal temperature throughout
    the year.
    The new sustainable headquarters will
    provide space for up to 2,000 Škoda
    Auto employees.

    × more safety and joy
    Four-wheel drive brings a number of benets and is very popular with Škoda
    Auto. The carmaker uses two dierent principles for its × models. In cars
    with a conventional internal combustion engine, Škoda Auto uses an inter-axle
    multiplate clutch to connect the rear axle. In the case of electric cars, two electric
    motors drive all wheels. A second motor is added to the standard motor that
    powers the Enyaq iV models at the front.
    The × drive ensures optimum traction in all circumstances, not just in winter
    when driving on snowy or icy roads. It also improves the handling of the car,
    which increases the feeling of safety when driving alone.
