    The premiere of the new ŠKODA FABIA MONTE CARLO took place on 15 February. This is the third
    model in the Czech car manufacturer’s current range of sporty lifestyle variants with the MONTE CARLO
    designation: Like the SCALA and the KAMIQ, the new FABIA in this equipment variant again focuses on
    the signature dynamic appearance with which ŠKODA AUTO commemorates its numerous motorsport
    successes at the Monte Carlo Rally. In the fourth generation of the FABIA range, the spiced-up and sporty
    FABIA MONTE CARLO will once again appeal to motorsport enthusiasts. The car is perfect for drivers who
    want to enjoy being out on the roads at the wheel of a car that’s a bit special. At the same time, the new
    FABIA MONTE CARLO provides the occupants with all the comfort, convenience and tech of the latest
    version of the popular hatchback.
    Series production of the new ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ iV
    has started at ŠKODA AUTO’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav.
    Just like its successful basic variant, the new model is based on
    the Volkswagen Group's Modular Electrication Toolkit (MEB).
    In addition to the ŠKODA ENYAQ iV and OCTAVIA models,
    the 2,000 employees in Mladá Boleslav will also assemble
    more than 120 ENYAQ COUPÉ iVs per day on the same
    production line. The world premiere of the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV
    took place on 31 January 2022 in Prague

    Further to previous communicati-
    on between ŠKODA AUTO and the
    KOVO Trade Union and in connecti-
    on with the loosening of government
    rules, the conditions for the use of
    recreational and holiday allowan-
    ces have been modied. The stan-
    dard rules for these types of stays
    (see the
    KOVO Trade Union web-
    site
    ) will be applied for the possibili-
    ty of booking convalescent stays and
    for the granting of convalescent stay
    allowances without distinction for all
    participants in convalescent or recre-
    ational stays. It is the employee's re-
    sponsibility to ensure that all con-
    ditions for granting the allowance
    and the conditions of the destinati-
    on are met. In the event of cancellati-
    on of a stay with a contribution from
    the ŠKODA AUTO, the contribution
    must always be returned.

    position from Bohdan Wojnar, who
    held it since 2013. The university
    underwent major development un-
    der his chairmanship – it signicantly
    expanded its portfolio of study pro-
    grammes, opened a new branch in
    Prague, obtained the prestigious in-
    ternational ACBSP accreditation and
    commenced tuition in a dual educa-
    tion programme.

    That's why we have now added a soup variant to our existing range of REkrabičkas,
    which you can also take away in this fully recyclable packaging. You can request
    a REkrabička for soup at the kiosk, where you will then be charged the amount of the
    refundable deposit and service fee, which are the same as for the existing REkrabičkas, i.e.
    a 150 CZK refundable deposit, which does not count towards the daily limit, and a service
    fee of CZK 3,50. Currently, the service fee has been temporarily reduced to CZK 1 due to
    the established measures.

    Since the start of production in 2012, more than 4,000,000 automatic
    direct-shift gearboxes s have been produced in Vrchlabí. Ivan Slimák,
    manager of the ŠKODA AUTO Vrchlabí, commented on the milestone
    at the Vrchlabí plant as follows: “Today’s production milestone is an
    amazing achievement for the entire workforce. It’s a great testament to
    our team’s high level of engineering expertise. We are consistently and
    comprehensively looking to Industry 4.0 technologies in manufacturing
    and have established the Vrchlabí site as an important strategic corner-
    stone in component production within Volkswagen Group.”

    THE ŠKODA AFRIQ APPRENTICE CAR IS TAKING SHAPE:
    Having largely completed the construction of the eighth ŠKODA
    Apprentice Car, the 25 apprentices of the current project year at the
    ŠKODA vocational school are now beginning the testing phase. The
    eighth ŠKODA Apprentice Car commemorates the legendary Dakar
    Rally and is the rst one to be created in collaboration with ŠKODA
    Motorsport since the long-standing initiative was rst launched.
    Now testing begins on the spectacular rally variant of the KAMIQ
    city SUV before the one-o vehicle is presented to the media and
    the public this spring. The name AFRIQ, chosen by the vocational
    students, also points to ŠKODA AUTO’s responsibility for all
    the Volkswagen Group’s activities in North Africa, the original home
    of the ‘Dakar’.
    ŠKODA AUTO employees and their family members are invited
    to guided tours at a discounted price. The price is only one-third
    of the standard oer. We will be oering tours every Saturday
    and Sunday during January and February 2022. For details, visit

    READERS’ POLL
    Following up on its successful debut in 2021,
    the fourth generation of ŠKODA’s best-selling
    model once again took rst place in the import
    ranking of the 2022 “compact class” category.
    This latest win marks the tenth time the Czech
    manufacturer’s best-seller has won the renowned
    “Best Cars” readers’ poll organized by German car
    magazine “auto motor und sport”: nine times as
    the best import model in the “compact class” and
    once as the best import vehicle in the “mid-sized
    car” category. In the 46
    th
    edition of the poll, more
    than 100,000 readers cast their votes and 386
    vehicles were entered in twelve categories.
