    Clearance
    In response to numerous enquiries from our
    employees, we would like to inform you
    that the Payroll Oce accepts requests for
    the annual clearance of tax advances in
    the standard way, including requests to claim
    interest on loans, provided that the loans and
    the relevant certicates of interest paid meet
    the conditions set out in the Income Tax Act.

    Rally Sweden:
    Lindholm Starts Title Defence
    Rally Sweden (9–12 February 2023) will be the second
    event of the FIA World Rally Championship for the Škoda
    Fabia RS Rally2. The new Škoda rally car set a high bar in
    the season-opener in Monte Carlo, where it was the fastest
    car of the class on  out of  stages.
    On the snow and ice covered roads of the Umeå region,
    a handful of crews competing in Škoda Fabia RS Rally are
    aiming for victory in the WRC category. This time including
    the defending WRC champions – Erik Lindholm/Reeta
    Hämäläinen (FIN/FIN) racing for Toksport WRT. Oliver
    Solberg/Elliott Edmondson (SWE/GB) or Sami Pajari/
    Enni Mälkönen (FIN/FIN) will also ght for points in WRC.

    FLEET DERBY 
    Škoda models once again reached the top spots
    in the FLEET DERBY poll, which aims to select
    the best eet cars, products and services.
    Our cars collect awards regularly in this competition
    organized by the Business Car magazine.
    The expert jury selected the Enyaq Coupé RS iV as
    the overall winner in the „Fleet e-Car of the Year“
    category. The same model also placed rst in the
    online voting for the „Electric Cars“ category. The
    bestseller among Czech families, the Škoda Karoq,
    was third among SUV & crossover cars.

    Allowance
    Without HR
    One of the popular
    employee benets
    is the childbirth
    allowance. Parents, who
    have been employed by
    their current employer
    for at least  months,
    and who have had no
    unexcused absences
    of , hours of more
    during the last year
    before the eligibility,
    are eligible for
    a 10 000 CZK when
    their child is born.
    This allowance had to
    be applied for using the
    Application for Payment
    of Social Expences form
    which the employee
    had to deliver to his HR
    manager. Today it´s no
    longer necessary to go
    to HR oce.
    The employee can apply
    for the allowance in
    the KOMPAS system
    himself.

    personal contact with
    HR manager, it‘s still
    possible to go to the
    HR oce and submit
    the request to the HR
    manager in person.

    Silence is golden, as the saying goes. Find out how
    Škoda’s developers are trying to eliminate car noise.
    How does aeroacoustic testing take place? The test
    model is immobilised in the test area. The noise
    in the room is measured using microphones placed
    in a soundproof chamber. A nozzle adjoining the
    room accelerates the airow so that the air entering
    the test chamber is truly uniform and does not swirl
    unnecessarily. The airow in front of the nozzle is
    unied by rectier screens. Conversely, the air behind
    the test room needs to be slowed down, this is done
    by a diuser. In the corners of the tunnel, there are
    guide vanes that absorb all the noise but above all
    guide the airow in the right direction. Finally, the heat
    generated in the aeroacoustic tunnel is removed by
    a cooling surface located opposite the fan.

    The Race2Code event
    climaxed on Friday
    3 February 2023.
    This two-day hackathon of
    leading Czech IT specialists
    and developers was organized
    by Škoda Auto and Škoda
    Auto DigiLab in the Cubex
    Center in Prague.
    Czech IT experts presented new ideas, solutions to specic tasks and explored
    cooperation opportunities. The most successful teams will participate in future projects
    within the Volkswagen Group. Hackathon RaceCode is also part of Škoda Auto‘s
    activities contributing to the development of the Czech Republic as an important center
    for modern automotive industry, electromobility and digitalization.

    Will Support Little Páťa
    The family of little Páťa from Deštná in
    the Eagle Mountains (Orlické hory) is asking
    for help. Doctors diagnosed Páťa with
    a spinal muscular atrophy at the age of
    , – a congenital disease causing muscle
    deterioration and severely limited mobility.
    Škoda Auto employees from the Quality
    department have decided to support the boy
    with a public donation. The proceeds will
    go to rehabilitation exercises and tools
    thanks to which Páťa can get a real chance
    to run one day.
