Josef Pálka Has Passed Away
On Saturday, January , Ing. Josef Pálka – long-time
chairman of the Automotoklub (AMK) Škoda and lifelong
employee of the Mladá Boleslav carmaker – passed away
suddenly at the age of . With his passing, we lose
an honest, modest, and a remarkable individual.
Josef Pálka joined the company (known back then as
AZNP – Automobilové závody, národní podnik) in
and retired after almost years as Coordinator of
Škoda Car Production.
The Škoda brand was close to his heart throughout his life.
His advanced age did not limit him in his work, quite
the contrary. He was now able to devote himself fully
to what he had previously done for AMK Škoda after
work. In addition to his daily duties at the Automotoklub
oce, he organized two major events each year with
a team of volunteers – the Škoda Tour (a week-long
international gathering of Škoda car enthusiasts) and
the Škoda Economy Run (a competition for the lowest
fuel consumption in Škoda cars). He left an indelible mark
on their history with his organizational virtuosity, personal
dedication, and human approach. He also worked for a local
charity. All of us who ever met him will remember him with
gratitude.
