    First Informal Top
    Management Meeting in 
    Last week, around sixty top managers of Škoda Auto
    gathered at the Café Restaurant Václav. Together they
    discussed the current challenges for our company.
    They talked, for example, about the ongoing situation
    related to supply chain disruptions and the global chip
    crisis. Sales results or the impact of the Euro  emission
    standard on Škoda Auto and the automotive industry
    were also discussed. Diversity in career development
    or customer centricity were also frequently mentioned.
    Colleagues from India and Russia once again joined
    the meeting online.
    Mindset Quality Podcast with
    Maren Kabowski-Ciecior
    This time the authors of the Mindset Quality podcast have
    prepared an interview with Maren Kabowski-Ciecior,
    the Head of Škoda Academy.
    What does quality mean to Maren Kabowski-Ciecior? How
    does she see communication in Škoda Auto compared
    to other Group entities? And where does she see Škoda

    Mindset Quality is based on the company‘s strategy, which

    Ice-Drifting
    World Record
    Škoda has set two ocial world ice
    drift records with the Enyaq RS iV SUV,
    the brand’s second all-electric sporting
    model.
    The records for the ’Longest Continuous
    Vehicle Drift on Ice’ and the ‘Longest
    Continuous Vehicle Drift on Ice (electric
    car)’, have been veried by GUINNESS
    WORLD RECORDS. They were set by
    motoring journalist Richard Meaden on
    a circular track measuring . m in
    circumference on the frozen Stortjärnen
    lake near Östersund, Sweden, on
    Thursday  January . Enyaq RS iV
    broke GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS
    title for ‘Longest Continuous Vehicle
    Drift on Ice’ after reaching a distance of

    of Electric Cars
    at Škoda Auto

    In , we again oer free
    charging of electric vehicles at
    Škoda Auto employee and visitor
    car parks.
    Operating the charging stations is
    very simple. After parking at
    the charging station, simply plug
    the connector into the car and
    select the connector number you
    will be using on the central panel.
    You then authenticate/log in with
    your MFA card at the charging
    station reader and the charging
    process will start automatically.
    Currently, there are over 
    charging stations in the employee
    parking lots (Mladá Boleslav,
    Kvasiny, Vrchlabí), where each
    charging station has  connectors
    for charging an electric vehicle.
    In Mladá Boleslav, charging stations
    are located in the parking houses
    in Česana and at the th gate, then
    at the Customer Centre (on the
    right by the entrance barrier), in
    the visitor car parks at the th and
    th gates, in the employee car
    park in Řepov and in the employee
    car parks at the 

    gates. In Kvasiny and Vrchlabí,
    charging stations are located in
    the employee car parks at the
    main entrance gates. To enter and
    then charge at the visitor car parks
    (behind the barrier), you only need
    to tell the operator that you will
    be charging your electric car.

    We Introduce the List of
    Energy Eaters
    From now on, we will turn o the lights everywhere,
    turn o the heating and use the dishwasher only
    for a half-hour program, which is logically the most
    economical – many said in response to rising energy
    prices. But not everything is so simple and benecial.
    Take a look at the  biggest energy eaters and all
    their specics in terms of saving money!
    . Heating
    Heat costs us the most energy, and this applies more
    or less to all types of heating. By limiting it from  to
     degrees, we can save %, which means an annual
    saving of over CZK , in an apartment, but also
    CZK , in a house.
    . Boiler
    Hot water is another expensive item, so it‘s a good
    idea to lower the temperature in the tank and be sure
    to replace a full tub with a quick shower. The savings
    are based on CZK , per year. Heating to only
     to  °C saves around CZK , per year.
    . Refrigerator
    The older ones consume  kWh, the newest half,
    but they all run all the time. If you have more than
     years old, buying a new one will save you over
    CZK , per year. Defrost regularly and keep
    the temperature between  and  °C. You will save
    CZK , annually.
    . Dryer
    You do not turn it on so often, but its consumption is
    enormous, especially for types without a heat pump.
    One drying can cost over  crowns. Even the most
    eective costs over CZK , per year, the regular
    CZK ,, so consider hanging the laundry on the
    drying rack.
    . Dishwasher
    According to experts, using it saves CZK , a year
    compared to hand washing, new dishwashers save
    another CZK  compared to older ones. As with the
    washing machine and dryer, turn on the appliance only
    when it is completely full, you will spend CZK , less.
    . Washing machine
    An economical washing machine with energy class
    A or B with a consumption of around  kWh per
     cycles per year saves up to  kWh compared to
    the more demanding type. And that‘s over  CZK.
    Most clothes can be washed at  instead of

    . Cooking
    Even when preparing meals, there are a number of
    tips on how to save. Meat or sh can be made in
    a pan instead of in the oven, more modern ovens oer
    ventilation, thanks to which you can bake a cake with
    the main dish. With a lid and a small hotplate instead
    of a large one, you will save  CZK.
    . Lighting
    Keep lights o where not needed! Motion sensors or
    replacement with LED bulbs can help: they save up to
    % of energy and have up to  times longer lifespan.

    . Computer
    A desktop computer with a graphics card and
    a separate monitor can consume up to  watts,
    a regular laptop needs around  W – with  hours
    a day, you will save CZK , per year. A PC set in
    stand-by mode costs CZK  extra per year.
    . Television
    Who wants to restrain themselves here, right? Many
    think that the bigger the better – but also more
    expensive to buy and operate. Old plasmas consume
    × more than LCDs; there is not much dierence
    between OLED and LCD, brightness settings and
    lighting conditions are more important.
