    industry faced many challenges
    in the past year, including
    the ongoing semiconductor
    shortage, the war in Ukraine,
    supply chain issues, rising
    energy and raw material prices
    and continuing geopolitical
    uncertainty. Despite these
    obstacles, the company
    delivered , vehicles
    and maintains a high order
    backlog, which demonstrates
    the strong customer demand
    for our vehicles.
    The rapidly increasing
    popularity of the Enyaq iV
    (+%) highlights the success
    of Škoda’s recently launched
    e-oensive. In addition, Škoda’s
    ecient combustion engine
    models remain very popular,
    with the Octavia being the
    most successful, followed
    by the SUVs Kamiq and
    Kodiaq. In , Škoda also
    signicantly strengthened its
    internationalisation initiative:
    In the strategically important
    growth market of India, the
    carmaker has more than
    doubled its deliveries. Another
    key step in leveraging growth
    potential will be its expansion
    into the Vietnamese market.

    C. H. Hahn Passed Away
    on Saturday
    Prof. Dr. Carl Horst Hahn played an
    important role in Škoda Auto‘s accession to
    the Volkswagen Group.
    The former Chairman of the Board of Directors
    of the Volkswagen Group and member of the
    Supervisory Board of many national and inter-
    national companies was one of Europe‘s most
    outstanding businessmen. For more than
     years, he set the direction of the Volkswa-
    gen Group and laid the foundations for its
    success today. As Chairman of the Board of
    Management, he built the Group into inu-
    ential brands, and as early as  he took
    Volkswagen into the Chinese market, where he
    saw huge potential from the outset. Alongside
    this, he was also actively involved in the devel-
    opment of the communities in which he lived.
    Shortly after his appointment as Chairman of
    the Board of Management, Volkswagen en-
    tered into an exclusive cooperation with the
    Spanish manufacturer SEAT. The subsequent
    transfer of production of the Polo and Passat
    models to Spain enabled the production of
    the Golf to be increased in Wolfsburg and
    paved the way for Volkswagen‘s return to
    protability and leadership in Europe. When
    Volkswagen bought SEAT in , the Group
    acquired a new, protable brand. Just a few
    years later, Hahn succeeded in bringing the
    Czech brand Škoda into the group that thus
    took over the market leadership in Central
    Europe after the fall of communism. The dy-
    namic development of Škoda Auto began with
    the steps initiated by Dr. Carl H. Hahn in
    the early s. A number of personalities
    from the Volkswagen Group paid tribute to his
    memory. Among them were Oliver Blume,
    Chairman of the Board of Volkswagen, and
    Klaus Zellmer, Chairman of the Board of
    Škoda Auto.

    Second Annual Inventors
    Award Honors Authors
    of New Patents
    The second edition of the Inventors Award
    had to be postponed by the organizers from
    the Department FLI – Intellectual Property by two
    years due to the pandemic. It was not until the end
    of  that the inventors and authors of the new
    technical solutions that Škoda Auto applied for
    patent protection between  and  could
    be awarded. The meeting in Terminal  in Industry
    Park Bezděčín was attended by approximately
     inventors and members of management.
    Among them were Dr. Michael Oeljeklaus,
    Board Member for Production and Logistics, and
    Dr. Johannes Neft, Board Member for Technical

    Electromobility Has
    a Future in India
    A sustainable, electric future.
    “As India moves towards safer cars and stricter
    emission norms, customer expectations are also
    changing as they seek better safety equipment
    and cleaner cars. A trend we strongly support,”
    said Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO
    at Škoda Auto Volkswagen India. How are Indian
    models of Škoda cars tweaked to meet local
    requirements? What are the brand’s plans in terms

    Watergen
    In , we continue our Innostories series.
    As the rst video this year, we bring you
    the 
    th
    episode, dealing with a topic that has
    resonated last year strongly in the company
    – the Watergen project. In the video, the
    project‘s protagonists Jakub Šanda, Expert
    coordinator – sustainability strategy, and
    Ludmila Prokopcová, Product BI project
    manager, present how Watergen technology
    enables the production of fresh drinking water
    from the air while driving and how
    the idea of implementing the technology in
    the Škoda Afriq student car came about.
    This collaboration, which supported
    the story and mission of the 

    student car,
    was supported by Škoda Auto DigiLab and
    InnoTeam. Thanks to the media presentation
    of the Afriq, Watergen technology has become
    more widely known to customers, so now it is
    time to move from project to product.

    and Health
    Škoda Academy again oers a number of interesting courses
    this year. During the rst quarter of the year, you can take part
    in several workshops on the topics of Communication and

    Negotiation, Dealing in Dicult Situations, Professional
    Engaging Presentation and others.

    a great number of sporting activities and
    charity projects, thanks to which sport brought
    joy not only to the active individuals. Among
    the projects organised are, for example: To
    Work on a Bike in Kvasiny and Mladá Boleslav,
    Run for Non-Runners, in cooperation with PSU,
    plogging took place as part of GreenWeek
    (a run accompanied by waste collection),
    together with the Škoda Auto Endowment
    Fund, several challenges were also held through
    which we were able to transfer the kilometres
    you completed to nancial support for
