    Škoda Auto Supervisory Board
    Election Results
    Between 1 December 2022 and 8 January 2023
    , Škoda
    Auto held elections for employees to choose Supervisory
    Board members. In accordance with the Czech Business
    Corporations Act, one third of the nine members of the
    Škoda Auto Supervisory Board are elected by the employees.
    The Supervisory Board is the supreme supervisory body
    within the company. Škoda Auto prioritises high voter
    turnout and employee participation in the election.
    Based on the results of this election Jaroslav Povšík
    (16 360 votes), Miloš Kovář (12 218 votes) and Martin Lustyk
    (11 185 votes) have been re-elected to serve as Škoda Auto
    Supervisory Board members for a four-year term starting on
    15 January 2023.

    Best Digital Copy Award 2022
    Enter the third „Best Digital Copy Award“ contest, which aims
    to motivate the employees to use proven digital technologies and
    system solutions to prevent development duplicities. Note that you
    may only register your digitization solutions with your supervisor
    until 15 January 2023. By adopting existing and proven solutions,
    the company‘s IT capacities are freed up and the process of
    digitalizing production is dynamically accelerated.

    (Group 1, 2, 4, in

    provided by the VAC
    department for all
    operated cars.
    Motorway Tax
    Sticker will be valid
    for 12 months from
    purchase. In the
    rst wave, stickers
    were purchased for
    vehicles expired at
    the end of the year
    and on the 31 January
    2023, stamps will be
    gradually purchased,
    depending on their
    expiring validity. It is
    still valid that vehicles
    with the registration
    plates starting „EL“
    are exempt from
    payment without
    the need for further
    proof. CNG vehicles
    have a reduced fee.

    You can also apply for a Covid-19 booster dose
    in the Booking Škoda system. This vaccination
    takes place at the Škoda Polyclinic every Friday
    from 13:00 to 13:45 and is also worth 1,000
    points towards the Škoda Benets Cafeteria.
    Non-Prot Educational
    Institute 42 Prague
    Yesterday, the non-prot educational institute
    42 Prague unveiled its rst core curriculum.
    More than 100 students have enrolled in the
    rst cohort since the institution was founded last
    year. To secure one of the coveted study spots,
    students participated in a four-week intensive
    selection training called ‘Piscine’. It is expected
    that 150 software developers will graduate from
    42 Prague annually.
    The time-tested curriculum of the rst Ecole
    42 in Paris is now used at all 42 campuses
    worldwide. It was created in 2013 by seasoned
    computer science professionals in France and has
    since been continuously developed and updated
    on a monthly basis by teachers and students.

    Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 Presented to
    Prague’s National Technical Museum
    Škoda Auto has ocially presented one of two Škoda Fabia RS
    Rally2 prototypes to the National Technical Museum in Prague.
    The new racing special further improves the car‘s excellent handling.
    It benets from a better weight distribution and balance thanks to
    its wider reinforced body and the stock Fabia’s longer wheelbase.
    Commemorating more than 120 years of the Mladá Boleslav
    company’s motorsport achievements the L&K CCR motorcycle is also
    part of the exhibition. It served as the basis of the winning entry in
    the 1905 Dourdan championship. Furthermore, visitors can also have
    a look at the L&K RK/M open-top car that secured the victory for the
    famous Count Alexander “Saša” Kolowrat 110 years ago.

    On 6 January 2023,
    the employees at the Škoda
    Auto plant in Vrchlabí
    produced the 4,500,000
    th
    DQ200 gearbox. This
    automatic direct-shift gearbox
    is still in high demand. It is
    installed not only in Škoda
    cars, but it is also used by the
    models of other Volkswagen
    Group brands in Germany,
    Turkey, Czech Republic,
    Great Britain, Israel or Poland.
    The carmaker launched
    component production in
    Vrchlabí in October 2012.
    Since the introduction of
    the 20
    th
    shift, the plant runs
    production all 7 days a week.

    These days we take car horns for
    granted, but on the rst cars a klaxon
    with a rubber bulb cost extra. Horns
    on today’s Škoda cars are tested up
    to half a million times. If you were
    to delve into the sound archives and
    listen to recordings from, say, the
    interwar streets of Prague or some
    other peaceful city in Central Europe,
    you would probably be struck by
    the constant honking, which is more
    reminiscent of Sicily or Asia.
    The reason for this was simple – in
    driving schools at the time, learners
    were told not to forget to honk before
    every junction.
