Electromobility on the Rise: Showcased at e-SALON

The e-SALON clean mobility fair was held at the Prague Exhibition Grounds in Letňany in mid-November. The Škoda brand attracted a lot of attention by exhibiting both the Vision O electric estate concept and the L&K 130 student car, as well as the Elroq and Enyaq models. Visitors also learned about the Škoda Explore service, which lets them rent electric cars for up to 15 days at a favourable rate. In five months, the service has reached 1,136 reservations with an average distance travelled of 723 kilometres. “The Škoda Explore service is the ideal first step into the world of electromobility. It offers potential customers a unique opportunity to try out an electric car in everyday use and test its capabilities, such as range on a single charge, in settings and situations they are familiar with,” emphasised Jiří Maláček, Head of VT – Sales and Marketing CZ. The Czech electric car market is growing. From January to October this year, 11,444 cars were registered, corresponding to a market share of 5.56%. The Škoda brand had 4,291 registrations during this period, with the Elroq model attracting the most interest.

Ideas from the Energy Scouts course

The educational project in the field of climate protection and resource conservation, organised by the Czech-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the name Energy Scouts, has completed its third course. Two teams from Škoda Auto participated in it as well. Colleagues from the BA – General Procurement department worked on an idea for using plastic waste as a material for 3-D printing office equipment. A joint team of colleagues from the PK – Component Production department and ŠKO‑ENERGO worked on more efficient usage of cooling water. The proposed measures should save water, electricity and costs and reduce CO2 emissions by more than 40 tonnes per year.

Entry into the Saudi Arabian market 

Škoda vehicles are heading to customers in another Middle Eastern market. In cooperation with SAMACO Motors, the carmaker will open showrooms in the Saudi cities of Jeddah and Al-Khobar later this year, with plans to launch its main branch in Riyadh next year. In the largest market in the Middle East, customers will have access to the Octavia, Kodiaq, Karoq and Kushaq models with internal combustion engines. These will soon be joined by the Superb cars and later the Slavia compact sedan. Škoda Auto is significantly strengthening its position in the region. This year, it also entered the market in Oman, resumed operations in Qatar and opened two new sales outlets in the United Arab Emirates.

Václav Klement Avenue is clear

From Monday, 1 December, drivers will be able to drive through all the sections of Václav Klement Avenue. This year’s stage of reconstruction was completed, and the next phase will begin in March 2026. We will inform you about traffic restrictions in a timely manner. Please also note that until 19 December 2025, it will only be possible to continue from the Laurin & Klement Campus to the right and left due to a temporary closure on Jan Palach Street.

In November, Škoda Auto produced its 100,000th Elroq, which it began manufacturing in Mladá Boleslav in January. In October, it was the most sought-after electric car in Europe. 

Meeting at the annual conference of the KOVO Trade Union

Škoda Auto can rely on its long-standing and solid cooperation with its social partner, the KOVO Trade Union. This was confirmed at the organisation’s annual conference in November, which was attended by all the members of the carmaker‘s Board, including CEO Klaus Zellmer. He emphasised the importance of both the partnership with the KOVO Trade Union at a time of major challenges for the automotive industry and the cooperation with Chairman Jaroslav Povšík.

Škoda Vietnam celebrates anniversary of republic

The establishment of the independent Czechoslovak state was also commemorated on 28 October by the Czech representation of the Škoda brand in Hanoi, Vietnam. Together with the Embassy of the Czech Republic, they organised a reception for several hundred guests. Among those in attendance were representatives of the Czech community in Vietnam and partners of the embassy and Škoda Auto, including representatives of the Thanh Cong Group, with which the carmaker cooperates on the local assembly of the Kushaq and Slavia cars. These models were on display at the event as well.

The Škoda Auto Endowment Fund (NFŠA) celebrates the seventh anniversary of its founding on 5 December.

Česana has a new modern restaurant

Since the beginning of November, Technical Development employees have been able to enjoy the new C510 restaurant, which was created in cooperation with the KOVO Trade Union as part of the modernisation of company catering at Škoda Auto. The employees may choose from a wide range of dishes in a modern environment, use self-service checkouts or an expanded hot buffet with a premium “fresh line” zone offering freshly prepared dishes. The canteen introduces a new breakfast concept as well. The grand opening on 31 October was attended by Maren Gräf, Board Member for People and Culture, Johannes Neft, Board Member for Technical Development and Jitka Žáková from the KOVO Trade Union.
