New Connecting Road Will Make Life Easier for Employees in Česana

The Česana South campus and the Technology Centre are now connected by a fenced road. For employees in Technical Development, this new feature addresses long-standing complications. Until recently, the two facilities had been separated by public areas and roads, so employees had to leave the campus via the gate when moving between workplaces. Transporting test vehicles was even more demanding. This required a permit to drive on public roads, loading onto a transporter provided by an external transport company and ensuring security supervision by guards. With the new connecting road, these concerns are eliminated. It is also possible to travel between the campuses on a scooter, saving even more time. The construction of the connecting road cost approximately EUR 2 million. The project includes a roughly quarter-kilometre-long, 5.5-metre-wide road and two bridges. One of them spans the newly built access road, including a sidewalk leading to the parking area by the river. The construction of the new connecting road will be followed by a project for the adjacent Nábřežní (Riverside) Park, on which the city of Mladá Boleslav and the Škoda Auto Foundation are working together. The public bike path on the left bank of the Jizera River remained open after the construction of the new connecting road, and its final route will be finalised this year by the completion of the first phase of the Nábřežní Park.

We took the new Škoda for a test drive

The interior emphasizes extreme spaciousness and comfort. Even with the third row of seats in place, there’s still 299 liters of cargo space in the trunk–which is above average even for seven-seat SUVs. ... Thanks to the long wheelbase, there is plenty of legroom on the flat floor, and there is also plenty of headroom. With a bit of exaggeration, one could say that Škoda has built an MPV and hidden it inside an SUV body.
