Škoda Mobil, the employee newspaper of the Mladá Boleslav-based carmaker, includes special supplements that focus on especially important topics from Škoda's perspective. The solar panels cover the roofsof five buildings on the premises. Inaddition, acompletely new facilitywas built – aparking lot called theCarport, whose roof is completelycovered with panels.Thus, the ŠKODA AUTO Kos-monosy premises’ charging infra-structure is based on energy from re-newable sources. The carmaker'sgoalwas to oer not only its environmen-tally friendly car technology but alsoalternative drive with aminimal car-bon footprint – that is, zero COemissions in the production of elec-tricity and the operation of electriccars. The electricity obtained from thesolar panels will be used both for theoperation of the premises, mainly thecar servicing facility, and for electriccar charging. In addition, the energyaccumulation system will contributeto the greater stability of distributionsystems and prevent sudden fluctu-ations in energy production and con-sumption.
