Škoda Mobil, the employee newspaper of the Mladá Boleslav-based carmaker, includes special supplements that focus on especially important topics from Škoda's perspective. Supplements can be a part of the newspaper, in the same format as the newspaper, inserted, for example, in the form of a flyer, or they can be stand-alone unique magazines in a specific format, such as supplements dedicated to new models, the brand's historical anniversaries, or other important information from the company's environment.

13WITH LOVE FORTHE CZECHLANDSCAPEBY THE END OF THE YEAR, THANKS TO THE HELP OF VOLUNTEERSRECRUITED FROM AMONG ITS EMPLOYEES, CAR DEALERS ANDCUSTOMERS, THE CARMAKER WILL HAVE PLANTED ATOTAL OF1,093,000TREES SINCE THE PROJECT BEGANŠKODA AUTO contributes tothe environmental policy throu-gh anumber of measures ari-sing from the Green Future strate-gy, including agrant programme withits “One tree for each car sold” mo-tto. This year, the carmaker will enrichthe Czech Republic with new greeneryfor the th year in arow. Through theŠKODA Trees project, it intends to plantthe ,,th seedling by the end of, which corresponds to more than hectares of new forest. Such anarea would cover football fields.In recent years, the project has invol-ved not only ŠKODA AUTO and its em-ployees but also family members, tra-inees and vocational school students.In , the carmaker’scustomers jo-ined the tree planting initiative for thefirst time, in Mariánské Lázně. The firstŠKODA Alley was also created in theBradlec municipality in the Mladá Bo-leslav region. To date, almost placeshave been designated in this way acrossthe country. Thanks to this project, plan-ted greenery can be enjoyed in Vrchlabí,Kvasiny, Solnice, Rychnov nad Kněžnou,in the vicinity of Mladá Boleslav in Pla-zy, Boseň, Březno and in many other pla-ces. In addition to the regions surroun-ding the plants, this project also involvesSouth Moravia (Rohatec near Hodonín)and the Šumava National Park, amongothers.Dealer community activitiesLast year, ŠKODA car dealers took partin aproject conceived as acommunityactivity. The ADIV dealership in Opavasupported the “Animals in ashelter havemore shade” event when, in cooperati-on with the local town council, it plan-ted cherry, maple, birch and linden tre-es in the city park. This dealer plans tocontinue organising similar events in thefuture so that additional places are crea-ted in the region where it will be plea-sant to meet, spend free time and holdcultural events. The AR SERVIS dealer-ship in Jindřichův Hradec supported theproject in the Dolní Pěna municipality,where in November , because themeasures against COVID- prohibitedpublic participation, they planted the so--called Green Trail made of fruit trees:apple, pear and cherry. EDGrant programmeMunicipalities, educationalinstitutions, non-profitorganisations, huntingassociations and civic andinterest associations canparticipate in the ŠKODATrees project through agrant.Its call for this year will bepublished through the linkbelow. The grant amounts willrange from CZK 10,000toCZK 70,000, and projectapplications can only besubmitted electronically viathe Grantys system.appealSEEDLINGS HELP TODIVERSIFY SPECIESOF VEGETATION,RECLAIM FORESTS,RESTORETRADITIONALALLEY AND MAKEIMPROVEMENTS TOTHE LANDSCAPE INCITIES AND THEIRSURROUNDINGS.The carmaker is placing increasing em-phasis on getting energy from CO-neu-tral sources, which is why its CEO,Thomas Schäfer, and his counterpart atČEZ, Daniel Beneš, have agreed to ex-pand the companies’ existing coopera-tion. Having commissioned solar pan-els on the roof of the Service Centre inKosmonosy in , they will partneron another joint project: construction ofthe largest rooftop photovoltaic powerplant in the Czech Republic, which willbe built on the roof of the ŠKODA PartsCentre and logistics buildings near themain production plant in Mladá Bole-slav. The project will entail the instal-lation of almost , solar moduleswith arated output of , kilowatts(kW) and electricity production exceed-ing ,megawatt-hours (MWh) peryear. The latest-generation moduleswere chosen as they have more thantwice the capacity of conventional ones.ČEZ ESCO will be responsible for in-stalling and operating the equipment,and ŠKO-ENERGO will take over pro-ject coordination. Construction of thesolar power plant will begin this sum-mer so that it can be connected to thetransmission system this autumn.
